  • STREAM Micro hydropower system, a run-of-river micro-hydropower generating system, can generate electricity extremely well in ultra-low head situations. Because it is so compact and easy to install, it is a good match for areas of de-centralized power generation. Common installations for its use include; agricultural irrigation canals, waterways with regulated water discharge, water treatment plants, and power plants.

    JAG SEABELL specializes in planning, designing, installing and managing Ultra Low-Head (ULH) Micro Hydro Power Systems that are able to generate electricity via effective use of low head water. Up until now, this hasn’t been readily recognized as an effective energy source. These solutions can help with; power industry, electric vehicles, support for rural electrification, agriculture, electric supply for emergency situations, and two-way electricity.

    Through simple utilization of the water current, STREAM offers distinct advantages over existing hydropower systems. Conventional systems utilize a dam for water head (creating a vertical drop) and to contain an electricity-generating turbine. STREAM, on the other hand, takes energy from waterways using little to no water head (usually, three meters or less).

  • During the oil crisis in Japan, local stores were struggling to get heavy oil for their businesses. This incidence had led KINSEI SANGYO CO., Ltd. to develop an innovative system that turns waste into energy through gasification. In a traditional furnace, controlling combustion was not easy because gasification and combustion would occur in the same place. In this system, the two processes occur in different compartments so that the system has better control over energy recovery. The system turns household, industrial and medical waste into useful electricity, steam, hot water and hot wind without polluting the air. The resulted ash is also recyclable.

    Our system is not a packaged product but designed for each site, which makes it possible to optimize piping structure and parameters on site, even in operation. We also have a design, installation and operating know-how of water treatment system as temporary construction.
    Therefore, it can be used for wastewater treatment at the contaminated site with heavy metals after removal work of illegal dumped waste. In this way, the initial cost can be cheaper than other conventional plants.

Our micro hydropower system is providing not only excellent machines, but also the know-how in understanding the site conditions, selection of equipment and parts, design and installation method. Based on the know-how, we can make an optimal suggestion for local needs and conditions. We have delivered the system in four countries including Japan so far, and we have experience of making proposals corresponding to each site situation. We can also offer to procure parts locally as much as possible. We introduce equipment that can be operated with less maintenance, which can help to be operated by local people, and there is very low operating cost after installation.

    We believe that local production for local consumption of energy is environmentally friendly. In particular, installation of renewable energy system in areas where there is no grid or limited energy consumption is effective for reducing energy loss. Micro hydropower is especially stable and can be used as a base load power source for solar power and wind power.

We have own method such as securing high water pressure for efficient power generation and environmentally friendly construction.   • KOMAIHALTEC Inc. has a long history of designing and building bridges and has done a tremendous amount of research on wind effects on structures. Based on this, they have developed a reliable wind turbine called KWT300.

    The KWT300 is designed to be highly resistant to gusts, lightning, and earthquakes. Transportation and installation of the compact KWT300 are easy. It is best used for remote communities with power generation by diesel fuel, which is expensive and is the largest source of CO2 emission in those communities.

    By integrating wind energy to the existing diesel power generation system, it will dramatically reduce the fuel usage as well as CO2 emission. KWT300 is also suitable for supplying clean energy to factories, schools and other facilities.

  • Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems require sunlight to generate power. On days without sunlight, conventional systems rely on their batteries and/or electrical grids to make up for the power shortage. Unlike these systems, the system proposed by KYOCERA Corporation allows solar modules to be used without batteries. Instead of using batteries, the company proposes to combine PV modules with diesel generators or other renewable energy sources. In this system, output from the PV module is controlled to keep the minimum operation level of diesel generators, allowing the system to operate efficiently as a whole.
